PLASTERS

'What does ‘true’ mean?' You can only tell a story so many times before it morphs into something else. So by the end, who's to say what was real?

“A snapshot of human life”, Plasters debuted at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe, 2021 and had its New York debut at The Flea Theater in Tribeca (February 2024).

An intimate window into the mind of a young woman, who is struggling to piece together her own recollection of what’s happened. Join Tessa as she tries to understand what is true and what was real, taking an in-depth look at something she doesn’t want to see.

Plasters challenges our ideas and perception of memory. Exploring “what if”, “what was”, and "what could have been”, this one act play speeds through a relationship, and slows down to take an in depth look at the moment you realize that you and the person you love are not having the same conversation.

“‘Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf’ for the new-text generation.”

-The Edinburgh Reporter

“The carousel of memories and heartbreaks continues to turn, with each party riding a separate hobby-horse they can’t get off.”

-BroadwayBaby

“Time shifts and slides. Scenes repeat. It is never quite clear what is going on, but Tadmor evokes an engrossing unease nonetheless. A compelling cryptic crossword of a play.”

-TheStageUK

"Plasters by Emma Tadmor, doesn’t just blur the lines between reality and performance—it obliterates them, creating a kaleidoscopic view of love, memory, and the human condition. In this metatheatrical exploration, we follow two couples: Andrea and Christopher, characters in a play, and Tessa and Sebastian, the actors portraying them. As their stories intertwine, we witness the unraveling of relationships both on and off stage, questioning the nature of truth, love, and the stories we tell ourselves.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Emma Tadmor’s original play, ‘PLASTERS’ is set to go on tour! Commencing at The Flea Theater (NYC, Limited Run, February 2024) and continuing at The Broadwater Theater in LA, our next stop is Paris!
